Pentiment is Out Now!
We are excited to announce that Pentiment the videogame, with music by Alkemie, is out today!
Pentiment is a 25-year-long narrative RPG set in 16th-century Bavaria. It follows an artist trying to get to the bottom of the murder of which his best friend has been accused. Made for Windows and Xbox, Pentiment is a chance for gamers to explore an intriguing, crime-riddled medieval landscape - and our chance to foment enthusiasm for the music we love.
Reviews for the game are already coming in (and —> we can’t wait to help the world discover that those violins are vielles and viols!)
Alkemie started working on the music for Pentiment three years ago, when Josh Sawyer (acclaimed designer of the Fallout and Pillars of Eternity series) contacted us to ask if we were interested in composing and recording music for a small, unusual, historical video game. We recorded a demo in the music room at Fordham University, hours before debuting our "Sweet Friendship" program. Three years later, we're excited to have curated / composed / arranged almost all of the music for the three-act adventure - and that that gamers across the globe will be hearing our renditions of Hildegard, Isaac, Josquin, Machaut, and others as they navigate a web of scandals and murders in the hallowed halls of Kiersau Abbey and the sleepy town of Tassing.
Celebrate with Us
